Another absolutely brilliant "Shield" moment..... Endured by those who are fortunate enough to have witnessed film-making on this level..... and lost to those who surruptitiously pretend to acknowledge brilliant film-making without having seen "The Shield"......
Shane Vendrell is one of the most complex characters ever constructed. An absolute testament to Walton Goggins as a brilliant actor. In juxtaposition, Vic is ultimately and completely "one-sided"..... This scene, above any other, shows Shane in his most vulnerable form. You see that his wife hates him, he hates himself, and (as an actor) he knows the audience hates him. But after this, he has some self-redemption; his wife embraces him again; and us as an audience can sympathize...
