@wtcvictim - Turbodiesels are about TORQUE, not HP - diesels have more torque than petrols.

That engine sounds really nice - diesels must be V6 to sound nice like that.

1. 525d is an inline 6 not a v6. Anyway 525 2500cc - provided 177 PS while the 3000cc 197 PS. At that time 530d with the same engine was availlable with 211 / 231 PS .

2. 2.7 tdi another smaller engine while top of the line 3.0 TDI was putting down 225 PS.

@astronut10 and you thought that I don't know that ? Anyway, as you can see, this was a long time ago at this moment Opel abandoned the V6 engine and now they use a straight 4 with similar power but not as smooth as a 6 cilinder.
