'Lucky' 9-Year-Old Receives 6-Organ Transplant

A 9-year-old Maine girl is home from a Boston hospital healthy, active and with high hopes _ and a new stomach, liver, spleen, small intestine, pancreas, and part of an esophagus to replace the ones that were being choked by a huge tumor. (Feb. 2)

It's just an overhaul. No problem we've all got that kind of insurance coverage..

I must say I am appalled and disgusted in some of these comments! Here is hoping that none of your children never need a transplant! Who cares if you are white black or purple this little girl gets a second chance at life now! It's a miracle no matter how you look at it.

@Zamara00 The problem is, this girl is facing huge risk factors. She's taking around 18 pills a day, just so her body doesn't reject the organs. Her immune system is seriously deprived. Not only that, there's a likely chance her cancer will return and take over again. She could very likely die in the next few years. Those 6 organs could of saved children who would of had a much better shot at life. Im not saying it's right or wrong, im just explaining.

is this a true story or an advertisement for organ donation? there are cases of people's live's coming to an end for their organs, when they may not be terminal.

Well, if medical science wasn't hindered by the pseudoscience of the religious right... I can't begin to imagine how medical science might advance.

Why can't everyone just be happy that this little girl has a second chance at life? How can anyone dislike this video when it is saying that a little girl survived something that would have killed her?
