  • Cool! I have a couple friends there right now, Mai and Doug. Say Hi from me! 8 inch channel can be found at some metal shops. Maybe call some in your area and see if they have it. Then you can have the shop cut them to whatever lengths you want. Not too expensive either. I've heard them used on Psappha also, for the ending of the piece. They're real loud...

  • Really solid performance!

What are your semi-resonant metals? Earth plates? Whatever they are, I like how they're a little less obtrusive than brake drums (like most people use).

  • I totally agree, brake drums can be little much. I went to a metal shop and had them cut different lengths of 4 inch by 1/4 inch steel plate. Then I put them on bubble wrap--the small bubble kind so they would ring just a little bit. The resonant metals are varying lengths of 8 inch channel (they look like half of and "I" beam). Thanks for the kind words!

  • Stupendous! Wonderful musicianship my friend; not to mention the performance itself - very graceful throughout. Is that a frying pan I see?

  • Thanks! Pedals, left to right: Frying pan, baking pan, mixing bowl, two trashy cymbals. It's all about the kitchenwares.

  • very interesting piece. It reminds me a bit the perspective of Xenakis. I think the composer is influenced a lot from pieces like Psappha. Very nice performance my friend I enjoyed every moment of your music. Thanks for the high quality of the sound and video , I really appreciate that. thumbs up !!!

  • I was wondering how you mounted the frying pans and whatnot on the suspended cymbal stands. I'm looking to do something similar myself.

  • Enjoyed the vid. I am studying under Ji Hye at Kansas and she recommended I consult with you about your set up. I was curious about where you got your "channel"?

  • That's so cool.

  • HOT HOT HOT!!!

  • Whatever that is with the third pedal from the left has an awesome sound. Sounds like an egg busting open or something.
