Blasting by like a bat outta hell southward on Track 3, as the NEC trains do best, is Amtrak Train # 159, New York Penn Station to Washington, D.C Union Station, AEM-7AC # 938 with 12 Amfleet I's in tow!! They waste no time here, this is all business railroading!! Adios, muchacho!!! :-D And while that train was hell fast, the roar thereafter was NOT from the speed of this "Trakker", but from a jet on approach to Newark-Liberty International Airport's Runway 4R just over 12 miles away....but it sure did make for a nice added sound effect in #159's wake, huh?? :-D By the way, the signals to the north guard County Interlocking, controlled by by Amtrak Section B Dispatcher, based in Penn Station Control Center (PSCC) in New York.

  • This looks like the ideal place to watch trains, being the last NEC station in NJ with ground-level platforms. Do they let you watch in peace without asking what you're doing there? If so I would like to go there sometime.
