With all his experience, can Spike Lee not produce a higher quality film? Really? I don't want to be negative but we see webisodes with more relevant content. Why is he rehashing the "Right Thing" feel. Why can't you do something original on the same level as Best Man? Folks are tired of films the doom and gloom. This is actually are large number of affluent Blacks. Where are they in film? Think Like a Man was awesome! We need more of that kind of film. Intelligent, sophisticated, modern.

Not to stir up trouble, but you know that Spike Lee actually DID produce The Best Man? And for your second question, if you're looking for affluent African Americans in film, just reply the video above- the main character, Flik, is a young boy from upper middle-class Atlanta.

I know Lee was involved w/ Best Man. There's talk of a sequel. Ok but my question is, why don't we see more of this type of original material? Not the same thing rehashed a million times like Madea Got a Job, Madea & Family, Madea Gets Ticket, Best Man 1&2, the sequel to Do the Right Thing, Big Mamma House 1,2 3, etc. - Why aren't these folks doing fresh, new, modern material? I don't mean where are affluent actors. I mean where are films ABOUT affluent Blacks? Many of us don't live in the hood.

We hear you- but you've got a few facts wrong. Notably, this is not a sequel to Do The Right Thing. And we're not saying the actor is from upper middle-class Atlanta, we're saying the character is. And we can DEFINITELY promise you that this film is the direct opposite of some of the films you've listed above. Come out and take a look- we think you'll be in for a happy surprise.

Really. I would much rather watch a quality movie written by whomever, than to sit through ANOTHER movie in the hood with church as a backdrop. Tyler Perry has no place in the conversation. I did not say I was a fan of his bafoonery. Think Like a Man, Best Man, Love Jones, Love & Basketball are the types of stories I like. Do I have a right to an opinion? Thank you very much.

Only You can Do You. I'll take some pointers from the greats but at the end of the day. I have to develop my style. That's what I appreciate about Spike. I know when I am looking@ a Spike Lee Joint. Perspective piece. Peace

Just like Beasts of the Southern Wild, but it was a hit at the Sundance festival along with this nickel budget movie. Love it.

Thanks for the information. I will reserve any further opinion until after I've seen the film. I hope it's not disappointing. Please continue to support Black film making. While you're at it, take a look at the material from Black & Sexy TV on youtube. This is more of the type of material that is funny and entertaining to us.

Reread my comment. I said I wanted CREATIVITY, NOT REHASHED CRAP LIKE Red Hook Summer

So wait, you want to see some over-priced rehash of someone else's work that offers no apparent creativity, just more of the same CGI crap? And yeah, Black people these days barely make those; they make buffoonery movies with cross-dressing characters, and cheap rehashed story lines, and surprisingly, people see it. This movie is possibly more creative than you know. This is Spike Lee's style; a style that he is well-known for. It works for him. If you don't like it, go watch mediocrity.

...and the hood! Good grief. Don't we already know our own story? I wish somebody would make a film of Blacks BEFORE slavery because unfortunately that's where many Black think we started.
