Muslims know such oppression is NEVER allowed in Islam, such oppression is even not allowed with animals!! so, what about a human, what about ur wife, what about ur Muslim wife??

its pretty clear for any sensible man...that Islam is freedom not opression....Islam is the most liberal religion...thts y a great number of western women are converting to Islam.....ppl lyk SG have nothing better to do but to extract out-of-context things from Islam n then publistize thm...she probably forgot what Bible says about this issue.....read your religion first before pointing at us.....

I don't think that Qu'ran tells us that we can beat our wife. It's a bad translation which is against the sense of the relationships between a man and his wife as described in the Qu'ran. I think what we translated as "chastise them" means "go away from them".
