  • I was best friends with the song writer of Dancing Men, John LaBarbera's son. He actually came and directed us playing that song back in 1995....cool...we also played Tiger of San Pedro. He's a jazz professor at the University of Louisville. Awesome teacher, great guy. He also wrote "Pop pop fizz fizz" Alka Seltzer to the Rescue. No Joke. I met Doc Severson because I name droppede him and he turned around very interested. John also introduced me to Wynton Marsalis. Awesome stuff!

    We played it at Terry Parker High in Jacksonville, FL the 1982 football season. I had the tuba solo!
