This is Rooney Mara and Daniel Craig's first interview for "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Mara will be playing the iconic Lisbeth Salander alongside Craig as journalist Mikael Blomkvist. Score composed by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross.

The english adaption (not remake), directed by award-winning filmmaker David Fincher, will be released in theatres December 21, 2011. Evil Shall With Evil Be Expelled.

It would be a small miracle for the Swedish version to impress me now, after having seen Fincher's vision. It left me breathless. Rooney's performance was for me akin to Christoph Waltz's performance in 'Inglorious Basterds' -- outstanding, in the fullest sense. I can't imagine any Academy voter in their right mind giving the Oscar to anybody other than Rooney Mara.

@Scrumpilump2000 Oh my goodness, A-fucking-MEN! Meryl has a large chance of winning, simply because she is Meryl. She is one of my favourite two actresses (Rooney Mara is the second). But I honestly believe that Rooney Mara deserves this award.

@junototoro Yes. Meryl was great, and about time she received an Oscar, but I honestly feel that this year belonged to Rooney Mara. Millions of other people agree. That alone is enough praise to create an Oscar for her (metaphorically speaking, of course lol).

I saw both the swedish and U.S. versions. I COMPLETELY agree that Rooney Mara was the perfect Lisbeth. I was so sad she did not with an oscar but hopefully 1 of the next 2 movies will get her one(if they make them). Daniel Craig was also perfect for Mikael, he had the james bond sex appeal that a womanizer should have, unlike the Mikael in the Swedish version. I left the theater with the rape scene BURNED into my mind. David Fincher did a wonderful job illustrating the book to the big screen
