This was done on my N64. No emulators, no hacking, no anything.
I bought a splitter and some cables so now I can play with sound on the TV and record at the same time. So I decided to try and record this.
To my knowledge, I am the first one to have a recording of this on a console.
I've now done it 3 times in a total of 3 hours and 10 minutes of attempts. It's not easy for sure, but it's possible.
This was done with just 3 nuts (including mega sidehop). The other two I did it with 4. So this is probably the fastest it can be done.
Obviously I cut a ton of failed attempts out.
HOW IT'S DONE:
First off, I'm not entirely sure on angles and position. Sometimes, it seems like a better option to just sidehop three times and where you end up just go for it.
Anyway, here is what I TRY and do:
1) Angle. The angle is pretty easy, and this angle has worked for me so far. I don't know how perfect it has to be but I'd imagine it has to do with your position. Theoretically, there is a wide range of angles that work, as long as your final position matches up with the right angle (if that makes sense).
If you watch me set my angle and try and replicate it, first align Link's hat to the black streak in the wall. Turn 90 degrees, and now go into first person mode. DO NOT WATCH THE GREEN SWORD ICON!! Watch the yellow cursor on the map instead. You want get it to where I have it..where the tip is slightly bent. You want to be in the middle of this position, regardless of where your green button is (the green icon seems to be different for me every time). The important part is the yellow cursor. I can't stress that enough. Notice how I go back and forth at both edges of it to try and get a feel for where it's middle is.
After you get it, time for the sidehops. You want to hug the edge like I do, just until you hear the scrub pop up. As soon as it does, push off the wall and end up about where I do (exact spot here doesn't matter too much).
This is where you'll want to try a bunch of different things. I have yet to find an easy way to get in the 'perfect' spot. So it's pretty much luck at this point...until someone can find a way to make this work with SOME consistency. If you want, just try and match everything I do. I'd recommend just doing 2 or 3 sidehops and then just doing the mega sidehop and hope for the best. Sorry I can't help more here.
Yeah, I wrote a lot, but this is the most detailed trick I have ever seen or attempted.
Good luck to everyone who tries it!
Mega Sidehop > Mega Flip?

For doing this trick I say yes.

Does it make you go THROUGH the side of the bridge? With flipping, the best I've pulled off yet is hitting the ropes of the bridge.

The clip can be done with a megaflip as well. Either way, it's a nearly pixel perfect trick so expect to hit the ropes and just fall plenty of times before getting it.

How you do that mega sidehop?

Hold your shield button, and then time a roll so that as soon as you end it you are hit by the deku nut. Then just sidehop. I find it better to just try and practice the timing, and then just press A to roll and then immediately sidehop and hope it was good timing.
