This is an extra video to complement my Tefal Actifry review. In this one you see the Actifry in use, making a batch of oven chips.

  • Rather an expensive device. Limited use too. I've had one six months now. I am finding it extremely frustrating to make a decent batch of chips from raw potatoes. When the chips are a nice golden brown, they are hard and uncooked. When you cook them long enough to be soft throughout, then you end up with a dark, ugly plate full of food, covered in burned particles of potato, tasting awful. I've tried numerous brands of potato, even maris piper, which are supposed to be the best for making chips.

  • @kelv1969 It's certainly expensive for what it is, although I notice they've brought the price down in some places now. I've never had the problem you've had, although I must say the oven chips do seem to cook more evenly than from raw. Sausages cooked in the Actifry come out tasting nice, although they do tend to break up a little. That paddle seems to churn some foods and slice right through them.

  • LOL my popcorn maker does the same thing for about $200 cheaper !! and in only 12 minutes lol

  • @llldebralll If that's true that's pretty amazing. What make is your popcorn maker?

  • This is no good for families if it takes 35 mins for portion to fry

  • @vrz07 Well I guess if you plan ahead it's not such a big problem, but if 35 minutes is too long for you to wait then yes, I agree with you.

  • or you could turn your oven on 475F, shake the pan a few times and get the same result.
