@dgl1962 If a person is envious, they want what they can't have. In this case, the owners of a mcmansion wanted one and they got one. So they're not envious.
Also, this is waaaay too small to be a mcmansion. Looks like less than 1500 sq ft. Hardly a mansion at all

The houses both look like they wont make it 30 years. Just wood, a few isolations, a few bricks, is that all a house is made of in the US? If yes then I don't wonder they are so cheap that people sprawl. That way of building would be illegal in Germany.
