  • Linux rules!!

  • @amoebios I wouldn't call a sub 2% market share "taking over".

  • @amoebios

Fantasy: 2004 was the year of the Linux Desktop

Fantasy: 2005 was the year of the Linux Desktop

Fantasy: 2006 was the year of the Linux Desktop

Fantasy: 2007 was the year of the Linux Desktop

Fantasy: 2008 was the year of the Linux Desktop

Fantasy: 2009 was the year of the Linux Desktop

Fantasy: 2010 is the year of the Linux Desktop.

Reality: Microsoft rules the Desktop World and Linux's Desktop market share isn't even 3%.

  • @amoebios The NT Kernel doesn't have to be sexy, it's there, everybody uses it, it's there and they don't care what a kernel is.

People get what they know and what they know is they get a computer from walmart and click on the blue e (internet explorer) to go on facebook.

My definition of "taking over" is above 50%, but I don't honestly see linux desktop market share above 10% within the past 8 years.

    That's the reality.

  • wow, cool show, very profesional,

  • @amoebios No it's not taking over the desktop. 2004 was suppose to be the year of the linux desktop.

    That was 6 years ago.

The Linux Kernel will never be sexy, but Apple made a BSD Distro called "NeXTStep" and made it sexy.
