Members of our service user group made this video so that more people could be helped by Advocacy Matters Wales.
Taking Part Work means a service provider works together with the people who use its services to try and improve the quality of those services.
An Advocacy Matters Wales Taking part worker can help a service provider to do this.

We are often asked to provide an independent Taking Part Worker to other organisations.

Advocacy matters (Wales) currently provide a Taking Part worker for Dimensions UK in Cardiff. Sarah Wilson facillitates the 'Having our Say' group for the Dimensions service users who live in Cardiff.
In the past, Taking Part workers have supported ategi and Cardiff Day Service users to have a say.

Advocacy Matters are a south Wales based charity who help adults with a learning disability have a say. Advocacy Matters (Wales) exists to promote the independent voice and protect the rights and choices of individuals with a disability.

This means people should be: * Treated with respect, recognition and as unique individuals * Able to have choice and a right to confidentiality and independence * Empowered to work in partnership with professionals and be involved in decisions which affect their lives * Able to take advantage of equal opportunities
