Part 1-Ch.29-Is It Love?

Btw, Nick--in this chapter, he sounds a little stupid. Sorry, I couldn't help myself :)

Kevin's phone rang.
Cutting it off, he answered it angrily.
"Damnit, Nick, what do you want?!"

"Jeez, Kevin, what's your problem? What did I do to you? God," Nick said back into the phone in a frustrated tone.
Kevin sighed, rolling his eyes.

"Sorry. Just.." he paused, sneaking a glance at Haley.
"Bad timing, Nick." he muttered.
"What? What's that supposed to mean?" Nick sounded worse than confused.
Kevin shook his head, "You can be so clueless, you know that?"
"But wh---oh, OHHH, that's what you mean by...bad timing, oh. Sorry, Kev. So she's there? Haley's at the hotel, now?" Nick's voice sounded muffled, and there was loud music in the background.

"Yes. She came back about, almost fifteen minutes ago." He included.

"Nick, where are you? Since when did you like Katy Perry?"
"Uh, oh, that. It's Joe. We're in his car, and--JOE, TURN IT DOWN!" he held the phone away for a second, afterwards, pulling it back to his ear.

"And he's just being crazy. Typical Joe. Anyways, he told me to call you, to tell you that we're coming back. So see you in five," and the line went dead.

Kevin shut his phone, looking back at Haley. He wasn't sure what to do now, since HE was going to be the one that kissed her this time.
"So..." Haley let her eyes wander the room.
"So...they're coming back soon." Kevin noted.
"Yeah, I heard. Nick talks pretty loud," she smiled to herself.
"Thought you would."

Again, silence. One of the things that bothered Kevin the most.

His mind was dozed off somewhere else, trying to keep himself busy with his hands. All of a sudden, Haley made a sudden movement. Kevin's head shot up to look to see what she was doing.
Haley rested her head against him again, catching Kevin by surprise.
"Comfier this way?" He teased, playing with her hair.
"Oh, very. Couldn't be more relaxed," she sounded like she was smiling.
"How sweet." he grinned. "So you like laying on me like this?"
She nodded.
Haley thought to herself what he just said; "so you like laying on me?"
If only he took the, "laying on" part of the sentence out.
If only.
Maybe then she would feel more comfortable around him. There wouldn't be so much...silence, at awkward times.
Kevin pulled her well onto his lap, cradling her in his arms.

"I feel like a little kid,"
"Then don't think of it that way." he chuckled.
