@deltaalphacharlie Yes, I have heard this. Jeconiah was blood-cursed by God, with none of his lineage prospering and to no longer sit on the Throne of David. (Which, once you have been King, is curse enough). If Joseph, descended from Jeconiah was Jesus biological father, Jesus would have been barred from sitting on David's throne - a critical legal requirement in the body of Messiah. Handily, God side-steps the very curse He levied, by making sure Joseph was not the father.

@smartwarlord you sir are full of it. How the heck is Josephs father both Jacob and Heli genius? You got two dads? Dont think so. There was no name for father in law or grand father back then. Just do your research and stop ranting. Talk about lying which hat did you pull Hezekiah name out of? Jewish sites don't even list the meaning you gave me. You didn't even address the curse issue.

You do realize lying is a sin, right? The text never says one genealogy is of Mary's and the other is of Joseph's, it says they are both Joseph's.
and don't give me that bs about "safeguard" nonsense. Inter-tribal marriage was forbidden.

@smartwarlord Ok i refined the research. I put the wrong name. the curse jeconiah not joachim it is through jeconiah the cure persists. Lastly Heli is jospehs father in law marys father. They were cousins mary and jospeh many times removed. Joseph from solomon and mary from nathan. And it is possible for elizabeth to be marys cousin and safe gaurd the linage of David. her mother could have ben levite and father of judah safe gaurding judah and levite. look into it.

Both genealogies say Joseph, not Mary.
Mary was Elizabeth's cousin. We know that there was no inter-tribal marriages as they were forbidden during Roman times. That means Mary had to have been a Levite just like Elizabeth.
Both the Kings of Israel and the High Priests were Messiahs/Christs.
