@crojonphoenix You're overlooking the fact that the camera picks up the normal light emanating from the screen (i.e. the picture), and does not necessarily have to pick up infrared also.
Some models do indeed pick up infrared no matter what you do, but then others don't.

@crojonphoenix Thats genious.
-
excellent for thief and murder :S
but remember you might be the next victim for them - genius
-
@RhysCranberry but some lesser quality cameras do pick up that part of the spectrum. its more likely a big hassle to wire enough LEDs to make a difference.
-
@crojonphoenix only works on Infra red cameras, e.i. cameras that use a night vision mode.
-
great idea, im gunna see if i can implement this theory on my license plate
-
@crojonphoenix Because this only works well on night vision cameras... all cameras can see ir.. but if you notice on the normal camera in this video they just glow a little, no "mask" 0:50 but once its using a night vision camera there is a mask.. This is because night vision cameras have their ir filter removed and they shoot their own ir that bounces back and thus you can see.. so if oyu fire your own ir into it'll blind the camera.

you're overlooking something, this only affects infrared cameras.

Would make a good youtube video effect. Just make a body suit so it looks like you're made of light lol.
I should try that the next time I rob a gas station.
