The BLOODHOUND SSC Project, led by Richard Noble OBE, is aiming to set a new world land speed record of a thousand miles per hour by 2011.
Everyone is invited to follow the building and development of the vehicle, says Richard Noble. The project was inspired by Science and Innovation Minister, Lord Drayson, who hopes it will encourage young people in particular to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The crucial aerodynamics research behind the fastest car in the world is being supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council who are also very much involved in engaging the public in the project as it develops. They are funding a team of researchers at Swansea University to undertake the vital computational modelling of the aerodynamics research for the car.
