mscatydid, the high stepping morgans are Bred to do that, they dont get a ton of heavy stuff on them and they do NOT break their tails...ever... thats for saddlebreds

Actually they do break the tails of saddlebreds & yes they wear weighted shoes to encourage them to step higher. just to clear things up.

@rdmadventures Saddlebreds tails are NOT broken. NEVER. ANd Saddlebreds do NOT get a ton of "heavy stuff" on them either. They are the usually the same weight as a Morgan. Source: I used to have Morgans. And I still Absolutely love them but I now ride saddlebreds. Just to clear things up. :)

i just got an old style Morgan horse this past year. They are the most amazing breeds ever. They're beautiful and very graceful in their strides. I have a friend who didn't buy the greatest Morgan. He had his tail torn off, he was sore in the butt and back legs, and he's 20. This slideshow is so great, i'm speechless...idk what i would do if the Morgan breed didn't exist!

I agree that some are looking too much like saddlebreds, with big long heads and skinny necks. But there still are a bunch of beautiful typey young stallions out there. Who, even if they trot super high, still have nice big necks and look like what a morgan should look like!

I have a Morgan- hes amazing couldnt ask you a better horse- he is calm when he needs to be and then will step WAY up for the shows also he has the sweetest personality ever,
and thats how morgans are now necks and knees to the rafters

My dad and I raise Morgan Horses. We try and stick to the old style Morgans type. I do not like some of the breeding lines that make the breed look part giraffe. Some exaggeration of course but you get my point. Our lines consist of Kingston and UVM. Anyways, ultimately the best breed ever! We wouldn't have many of the other American breeds today if it weren't for the Morgan!

I know the majority of these horses by reputation only. 1:33 is HollyBrook stage Rage and 2:01 is Lamborghini in Black I love that horse. 3:38 is Trebles Tanqueray. Did you take the images out of the Morgan connection?
