  • in a way.... u can feel the Tension in the song in this version, where you can really feel the age in his voice.

in a way he seems older here then he does now, a decade later

  • Yes, this is not definitely Pete's fines performance. But still I like the rendition of Cut My Hair he does with a piano.

He seemed to have some vocal problems throughout this performance.

  • Pete!! I sing this song all the time, and I never ever would have considered your phrasing; it just wouldn't occur to me!... but it really is poignant. There's a big difference between just singing a song and truly embodying the music. I know that you mean every word when you sing. And I mean every word when I say, "Thank you!"

  • Well, who cares if he made some mistakes that day? I don`t. He is far better in his worst days the most of us in your best ones. That`s the way we love him, doesn it? Besides that, the verses "zoot suit, white jacket with side vents blabla" are difficult to sing. Try for yourselves...

  • @jolcom They Both sing in the album version.

  • Ouch, suddenly my throat hurts.

  • @bigragu2001 No, it was Pete singing it on the Quadrophenia album.

  • uhhh - didn't Roger sing the original version...???

  • @slotwinski1414

Interesting observation - Maybe he felt older in his early fifties than he did later. And maybe his voice was just hoarse that day.

  • God, when Pete made that mistake at 5:27, I could instantly tell that he wanted to smash that piano. I have so much empathy for him, no matter how old or how jaded his voice gets, I'll still look up to him.

  • like the glasses

  • this is a favorite of mine .its so delicious to see Pete flounder on it a bit .maybe he really is just one of us,after all.i dont think an alien would have bumbled his own song .refreshing!
