Men slapping around women in comedies is degrading to women, especially since women are not allowed to slap anyone at all because its politically incorrect and offends men.

Why is everybody condemning women who want to dominate? Nobody bashes men who want to dominate, everybody is okay with that. You favor men over yourself, why don't you speak out against radical misogynists?

I'm not actually condemning women who want to dominate. My problem is with those women considering themselves feminists when I feel that sentiment undermines the true nature of feminism - that being of equality. Domination perpetuates the unequal system that feminism claims to fight against. That's all. Thanks for the comment.

So who are you responding to? What feminists believe those things you argue against in this video? If you just say "some feminists believe that" without citing sources, I have no way of verifying that you are accurately representing any person's beliefs.

Also, it seems like you are ignoring the power structure in our society. You hitting a man and a man hitting a woman are not exactly the same acts, because they occur in context of society with unequal distribution of power between genders.

The video was a response to a lot of discussion that was going on around me about sexism in TV. The original stimulus was a blog. If you PM I'll send you the link.

I'm not necessarily ignoring power structures. Rather I'm saying that the constructs that build that unequal context around men and women is what is polluting the way we talk about gender and sexism. That there is a sense that those two acts are different but that they shouldn't be...

Here's the deal... feminism is like every other political movement. It's about one proup of people who want rights & priviledges for themselves and if that leads to more equality it's a good thing. But as long as it's a gender exclusive movement misandry is bound to come with the package. A true gender equity movement will have to be open to both sexes. But if that happens, it wouldn't be called "feminism" or the "women's movement" anymore.

And this is no doubt gonna b taken wrong, especially here... but (in my opinion) women r not meant 2 rule. Women, biologically, r ruled by their emotions. Women, by nature r born with the instincts to nuture and 'raise'. To rear the worlds next generations... why is that not enougho.O'

And then nobody actually wants to fix anything it's more about hating the other gender and saying that the other side has it easy etc etc, who knows maybe the other side has it worse BUT THATS NOT THE POINT. What the point is that BOTH sides have it EQUAL. So instead of just thinking of "ooh they're such douchebags they only have such little problems" how about fixing BOTH SIDES' problems? Whether it's small or big isnt the issue.
