  • Rothenberger was such a fine human beeing, beautiful woman and great singer!

  • @GeorgeM1949 Search AMazon music for "Die Hochzeit des Figaro"

    Label: Berlin Classics

3-CD set of the full opera sung in German by a dream cast, worth all 26 of the bucks that it costs and then some. I first owned it on vinyl nearly 40 years ago.

  • Great voice, great singer, wanderful musical choices, but that opera is written in italian, in mozart's mother tongue i it's awful. Like to listen to Wagner in Italian :)

    Never heard? try it :))))

  • far too under represented on recordings and dvd's. Does any one know of a commercially available copy of this performance?

  • Mozart has written this Aria for an angel. And an angel has sung it.

  • @ungiornodiregno ...and what a great statement she gave at the beginning. She was a wonderful artist. May she rest in peace!

  • The rose opening is ridiculous.

On the other hand, Rothenberger's singing is ridiculously wonderful.
