Patrick Meier (F'10) discusses the use of technology to show support for Iran in an interview with Tufts E-News.
Note: In Meier's discussion of Twitter users providing proxy addresses for people in Tehran, he is discussing what was done, not promoting it as a good idea. In portions of the interview that were cut due to time constraints, Meier discussed how because of the public nature of Twitter, the regime was able to shut down proxy server access as quickly as they were posted.
Hi Fletcher/Kaitlin, this is Patrick Meier, the interviewee. Thanks for putting this up. Please note that I had given the example of disseminating proxy server addresses via Twitter as a case of what *not to do*, but that bit of the interview was not included, so I just wanted to make sure that my comment was not misleading or misunderstood.
