While I applaud the sentiment of much of this video, I can't agree with the opening claim that "foreign aid isn't working". We should avoid setting up a "tax versus aid" debate, when the two are complementary. Tax justice offers a long-term route for developing countries to end their dependence on aid, but in the short to medium term aid is and will remain both effective (with exceptions, of course) and essential- not least to support the development of developing countries' revenue authorities.

In fact, latest numbers indicate world poverty since the 70s has decreased, and continues to do so. The less profit taken from businesses, the less likely they are to go bankrupt, therefore to avoid inhibiting the growth of economic prosperity in poor areas, one wants to lower not increase taxes. Bankrupt businesses, remember, cannot employ people. Corporate governance realises this fact, and works to educate people to better enable the growth of prosperity in poorer areas on Earth.
