Pola Negri sings the song Paradise from the rare 1932 early sound film A Woman Commands. Also starring Basil Rathbone and Roland Young. Directed by Paul Stein. A better quality clip than an older one on YouTube.
Incredible! There were three mesmerizing singing stars of the 1900s, Pola, Zarah and Piaf. One cannot get enough of Pola, her songs every time open up to new horizons, new soulbreaking insights, new moments of intense, lingering emotions. I almost can't wait to get to the next world and maybe submerge myself in the latest recordings of Pola, maybe even attend an evening of her songs, maybe even be permitted backstage and throw myself at her feet with a ton of orchids! Pola For Ever!

When the song ends, the king(The man sitting in front) says to her....I want to hear the missing words. lol
I think this is MUCH sexier than today's stuff. Everything now is too over-done.

@ClarasBeau Yes I agree, but surprisingly Pola's career was on it's way out,due to sound. I, for one, think her voice is charming and it suits her.
