Kevin Wikse of www.heroicevolution.com brings "strongman style" Club swinging into mainstream consciousness by developing full body complexes/routines using the 80lb clubbell and even heavier versions of the club. These complexes are full body integration, not only strengthening the entire body, the tendons, the bones, the muscles, etc, but also increasing endurance and work load. Kevin routinely takes these seemingly simple complexes into triple digit reps. In addition to clubs, we use maces, kettlebells, and strandpulling on a very regular basis to develop all types of strength and then bring it all together.

  • Awesome man, Have you become certified in clubbell training? Yours are some of the best videos I've seen. Seeing your video of you doing the 45 pound shield cast with the club is what gave me that extra push towards buying and using the bruiser. Great stuff!

  • I am not CST certified :) If I ever get the time I think I will go that route as he has some information. I am poineering "strongman style" club , mostly strength feats turned into functional exercise. I got my information from previous experience with club styles from all around the world through sheer circumstance and luck. Using methods from india and the training methods of the chinese wolf tooth cludgel and the kanbojutsu and stories of club weilding spirts of Shintoism called Oni.

  • Great stuff. Been thinking about getting some clubs. Thanks for these clips. 80)

  • Clubs are great, traction force/leverage is a true secret to developing strength and endurance across a huge range of motion. You also create powerful joints because you always holding against the pull of the club. I LOVE heavy lifting, barbells, kettles,dumbulls... I have always been very strong, but I didn't get freakishly strong untill I strarted swinging clubs/ maces and pulling cables. I think you are a lot like me and see value in using a mixed selection of tools rather then just one.

  • Very cool. And a very cool collection of equipment.

  • @Dante31. Thank you! I wish I could say it was all mine. Its my good, good, friend Steve Belanger's private gym and strongman training center. He has tools in there that the majority of the world has never seen before.
