Options Report: June 14, 2011

On the call side, Skechers (NYSE:SKX) and Crocs (NASDAQ:CROX) are both very active today, currently trading at 9.5 and 8.5 times their average as many investors are keeping a close eye on the footwear sector in light of the Timberland (NYSE:TBL) acquisition by VF Corp (NYSE:VFC) yesterday. Dollar Thrifty Automotive (NYSE:DTG) calls are trading over 8 times their average volume, despite news that the potential deal with Avis Budget Group (NYSE:CAR) may be off the table. Finally, Covidien (NYSE:COV) calls close out the list at close to 8 times their normal volume after several investors bet bullishly on the company.

Taking a look at the put side of the ledger, USEC (NYSE:USU) puts are currently trading at 32.5 times their average volume after several investors bet that demand for uranium will continue to decline. Colgate-Palmolive (NYSE:CL) puts are also very active today, trading close to 10 times their average volume. Community Health Systems (NYSE:CYH) puts are at over 9 times their average volume, after having their price target cut by analysts. Kellogg (NYSE:K) puts are trading at 7.5 times their average volume after the company received an FDA warning about one of its plants.
