  • That was a really good restore job, I know the original wire was old and not usable but I still cringed when you clipped it. Also the black EL tape doesn't look so good.

  • @MrSkullsnGuns

Nah no biggie. The wire I clipped was not the original. Someone had wire nutted and taped the cord on it years prior I'm guessing. I just hacked it off... :)

  • What color of white paint did you use?

Nice job restoting that Westy BTW, good old fans those...

  • The white paint was the primer, Rust-Oleum #7780

    The 2 final colors were Rust-Oleum "Painter's Touch" spray, color: Fossil/Satin #240253

and Rust-Oleum "American Accents" spray, color: Oregano/Satin #212078

  • Always a fun hobby. Is that a westinghouse? Looks good! I have a couple GE's from about the same era.

  • Yep, it's a Westinghouse...

I'm hoping to get some better pics and stop motion for the next one.

    Solid fan style...

Well it's ok then lol :)

  • By the way, how to tell all Westinghouse fans from all the rest, and I mean all the rest is very simple, all Westi's spin counter-clockwise! Ther is one other that spins counter-clock, it was the Fresh -N- Air with those wierd, thin aircraft blades, it is possible that Westinghouse supplied there motors.

  • Very nice job! I have one suggestion, the head wire is the only issue, you could have reconnected the head wire more professionally, it would have taken just a minimal effort, a little shrink tube and some solder and it would have looked professional. It still looks great, and more importantly it works, now that you have your feet wet, you are ready for your next restoration. You will get better as you move to your next project and so on!

  • - im metal fan!

    - yea, mee too!

  • The Rustoleum 212078 - Oregano is a great Master Chief Color

  • You made that a really nice fan!
