EDIT: iPod touches need to edit a different file. This video just works with iPhones. The principle is the same. just a different edit.sorry about the portrait video, and if your on windows a good plist editor would be plist editor for windows.

Just download SBsetting from cydia and then go onto more and slide to select numerical battery and it will show just like on the 3GS.

I had somehting like this, first jailbreak, enable sbsettings battery percentage and upgrade to 4.0 and you get to keep it.
