This is a slide show of the restoration of a 1961 Chrysler 300g coupe. The car is still being put together and here is the story as of now. This car was purchased from eBay in February of 2008 and deconstruction was started. The car was stripped and sandblasted to reveal the floors and trunk were completely rotted. The floor was bought from memory lane and the trunk pan was custom made. The 413 cross ram motor and torque flight transmission were taken out and rebuilt. The underneath was painted and the engine, transmission, drive shaft, rear end, brake lines, fuel tank, and fuel line were put in. The car was put on the ground in November of 2009. As of now the car does not run but it will soon.

  • very nice work. I live in Norway and a frend of mine have been i california and detect a 1961 300G. It vas a project like yours car. What price is correct do you think. Do you get original floor sheet metal? What about seat cover and innerlayer in roof?

  • @brhenriks i paid $12,000 for this car which was way more than it was worth. one that needs restoration can cost $5000 to $15000 depending on condition. I got the floor and trunk from a place in called Memory Lane and the seats and headliner are not done yet but we are going to have them custom made.

  • Wow very good. I cant wait to see more. Can you watch some of my videos and give me some tips?

  • Quite possibly the worst god damn song I have ever heard. This car needs real music - Frank or Sammy, maybe Dean too.

  • @RestoringMuscle If you don't already know, complete interiors for these cars are custom made by Gary Goers, in Kalispell MT. He's the expert for 300 letter cars, has many other items for them as well as the headliners. I've bought lots of items from him over the past 28 years.

  • NO, NO, NO, you mustn't play rap when playing with these, it isn't a 1964 Chebby Impala. Play Tony Bennett or Frank Sinatra or something. Speaking of sheet metal there is a place called Classic Fabrication that makes match panels and you can find upholstery material from Original Automotive Interiors. The Walter P. Chrysler club is a good one to join if you are restoring one of these, there is also a Chrysler 300 club I believe, it would be good to join for information and parts.

  • What is up with that music? How does that rap crap have anything to do with a classic car?

  • Nice work so far. I did the same with my G in SoCal starting in 1983 and finishing in 1993. I will work on scanning some pictures and posting them. Best of luck with your project!

  • nice work ! thats pro restoration
