I also lived in Taiyuan- I totally disagree with you boychris about the people. I thought the people in Tiayuan were warm, kind and friendly. My neighbours made me feel so welcome in my new home, inviting me to dinner in their homes and tripping over each other to help me if I needed anything. I cannot understand how you could think they had no goodwill. It's the opposite of my experience. If it's that bad, why stay their for 3 years? I loved Taiyuan- it's real China.
