ATWT: CarJack - Valentine's Day 2004

As the World Turns Valentine's Day 2004. Jack surprises Carly with a new faux fur and tells her to put on one of her creations because they are going to the party. He urges her to use this opportunity to get back into the fashion world. Paul has just finished a speech to toast to BRO's new beginning, when Carly and Jack arrive and Carly steals Barbara's thunder. Carly is sad because of her conflicting feelings about her career. After returning home, Carly and Jack start to celebrate their favorite holiday Valentines Day. Paul calls Carly, interrupting a romantic moment with her and Jack, and wants to talk about her future at BRO. Thanks to True North for providing the clip.

I don't understand why ATWT has to speed through the storylines. The whole point of a soap opera is that things are supposed to unfold at a slower pace. That's the great strength of the medium. That's why people watch.

Some soaps (cough - Y&R - cough) drag out storylines way longer than they need to be dragged out, but ATWT should slow things down a little.

By the way, Jean Passassante is cooking up a truly a-Paul-ling storyline. It's not about what's in his heart, but what's in his *head*.
