Do any of those sample bottles have the four letter recipe code on them? Four Roses is well known for having 10 bourbon recipes (Two mashbills-one high rye, one low rye and five yeast strains). The Four Roses web site has info on how to read the code.

I've been drinking (Scotch) whisky all my adult life - discovered bourbons about 10 months ago and I haven't looked back. I really like the basic Four Roses...so I'm going to have to try the up market ones - I have seen some of them in the Whisky Exchange in Soho (London)

Just had the basic one. Really decent stuff, sweet and fruity basic flavor. Not a lot of complexity, but good!

Enjoy the bottle...err...a portion of the bottle. We'll tape another one over the weekend - probably post some time next week.

I am not sure if they have that code on them. We ended up sticking with Buffalo Trace as our full barrel purchase and I no longer have the sample bottles. However, I have seen their recipe lists when I was looking at purchasing a barrel. If you need more info, let me know...I can direct you to our Four Roses contact. Thanks.

I guess Antioch is too far to come when you are in London? I really like Buffalo Trace as my go to Bourbon in the $25 or so price range. If you ever make it to Antioch, look us up...then head on out to Kentucky and take a drive on the Bourbon Trail!!!
