Geometries in Google SketchUp are sticky. If geometries such as faces or segments touch exactly, they will fuse or stick together. If you don't want geometries to stick to one another, you can make them either a group or component by right-clicking and selecting make group or make component. Grouping just creates a shell that holds and protect geometries. Components are instances that you can re-use. You can double click on a group or component to edit it. Changing one component will change all instances of that component.

  • hi were if you bring a model from 3D warehouse

    and you want to ungroup

    how do I ungroup?

  • what if there is also a floor? i cant create the group on the other surface because it will stick, and i cant create it on the floor either because it will stick to the floor ?
