  • When the motor gets warm that expansion is solid with zero leaks by the rings. No it will not score the cylinder wall.

... in Chainsaw competitions this is done a lot!

  • Want a small cheat? this is for 2 stroke engines. Get .005 over piston rings and file fit them. File so they just fit into the cylinder snugly (by hand). Now put the motor back together. What this does is it gives you a 100% tight seal and you gain maximum compression - this little bit is enough to gain up to 15% more horsepower. And on a 125cc class, that is a lot over the stock competition.

  • This is actually old science re-lived. To really see what is going on, use a spark plug tester under high air-pressure and you will then see what is going on and if the the tester you have has electrical gauges you can also see how much drain there is. Clean Sharp Crisp Edges are the best, making sure that it is squared off to the ground prong. Use a small file to gain maximum performance.

  • Finally! Someone that actually knows what they are talking about - what a breath of fresh air! Thank-you!

This also applies to car engines - The color is very important - black is NOT good, unlike a lot of dirt track racers I know of that think if it isn't pure black it is burning too lean. Burning White is the ultimate or no color at all, looking like it wasn't ever used is the best that it can ever get! But hard to achieve.

  • dude you have no comments. i just watched 3 vids and they're great! i'm trying to get my bike back on the road so this is a great find.

lots of things i never knew.
