JonasBrotherSeries Chapter 22

Nick and Mikaela arrived at coffee shop rather quickly, as the shop was only around the corner from where he had just performed.

Nick: *sits down at a small table*
Mikaela: That was your first concert since moving to Raleigh right?
Nick: Yep.
Mikaela: What made you move here?
Nick: Um...well Sierra.
Mikaela: That girl from the pictures?
Nick: Yeah.
Mikaela: Oh. Sorry, I shouldn't have brought that up.
Nick: It's OK. Plus how could you know?
Mikaela: I'm supposed to know everything about you.
Nick: *laughs* Creepy but I guess so.
Mikaela: *laughs*

Nick smiled and sipped his coffee, but when he looked up, he saw Sierra. Sierra, Nikki, and Lizzie were on the other side of the coffee shop.

Nick: Uh...let's go.
Mikaela: Go where?
Nick: The beach?
Mikaela: Isn't that pretty far away?
Nick: Right...the park?
Mikaela: Why?
Nick: Sierra. And her angry friends. Over there.
Mikaela: Oh...let's go.

Nick and Mikaela left, but not before Nikki had spotted them. Nikki motioned to Lizzie and she frowned. Sierra tried to see but Nick had gone.

Sierra: OK what's going on?
Nikki and Liz: Nothing.

Fifteen minutes later Nick pulled up at the park and he and Mikaela walked to the track and started talking as they walked around the park.

Mikaela: So she's mad about the breakup?
Nick: Yeah.
Mikaela: And her friends?
Nick: Madder.
Mikaela: *laughs* Madder?
Nick: *smiles* Yeah.
Mikaela: Nick, can I ask you something? Something personal?
Nick: Sure.
Mikaela: Do you still love her?
Nick: *stares at the ground* That doesn't matter anymore.
Mikaela: It does if I like you.
Nick: *glances up* What?
Mikaela: I like you Nick.
Nick: Really?
Mikaela: Yes. I want to be your girlfriend, but if you are still hoping to get Sierra back, I can't be.
Nick: I want you to be my girlfriend too. I'm not hoping to get her back. And I'm not trying too either.
Mikaela: OK then. *takes his hand*

The two walked around the track holding hands until someone spotted Nick. They ran back to the car and laughed as Nick sped out of the parking lot. When they got back to Nick's house, they collapsed on the couch laughing.

Mikaela: Oh my gosh that was so fun!
Nick: Did you see the look on their faces when I took off?
Mikaela: I think that girl was about to faint!
Nick: *laughs*
Mikaela: *laughs*

Kevin and Joe walked in.

Kevin: Where have you guys been?
Joe: It's been two hours since you left the concert.
Nick: We were at the park.
Joe: What?
Kevin: What, you went on a date?
Nick: Yes. Mikaela is my girlfriend.
Joe and Kevin: GIRLFRIEND?
Mikaela: Yeah. But don't worry, it won't effect my job. Or yours'.
Joe: *stutters* But...um yeah that's...uh what we were worried...about. OK bye. *leaves the room with Kevin*

Kevin: He's not over Sierra!
Joe: How can he be dating again already?!
Kevin: What about Lizzie, Nikki and Sierra?
Joe: He's...ugh! Mikaela??? Our secretary?!? He still loves Sierra and now he's dating someone he barely knows?!
Kevin: He barely knew Sierra before he said "I love you."
Joe: Yeah but he really did love her. Does. He doesn't love this...Mikaela.
Kevin: I told him to get over his attitude so he goes and finds a new girl?

Kevin and Joe continued to rant when finally everyone went to bed and Mikaela left. No one had any idea what tomorrow would hold, but Joe had a feeling it would be bad.
