@IThinkYouLookLarvely That was ITC, the program production and syndication end of ATV. Actually they aired a fair number of ITC/ATV shows in North America other then The Muppet Show. The Saint, Danger Man (Secret Agent), The Prisoner, Space 1999, UFO, The Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Stingray, and several others were aired over here during the 1960s and 70s and in re-runs since. When I think of the Muppet Show I think of the ITC space diamonds and that theme that came with it.

@bunnyrobber87 That's makes sense as The Muppet Show couldn't get a deal in the US, but they got a deal with this UK company. There probably weren't many more ATV shows shown in America other than that. Though, this logo also reminds me of the Muppets more than anything else!

I can only agree with your comment - there's never been an ident to beat ATV's Zoom 2. What a shame that the distinctiveness of the regions in the network has been snuffed out by the merging into a monolithic ITV. Thanks, Carlton and Granada - not.

Central ( aka Carlton ) finally snubbed out ATV's spirit when they closed the ATV Centre in Birmingham, up until then , even though Central were making the programmes they still had the ATV feel. When the studios went so did the last final remains of ATV.
They should never be forgiven for that.
replaced by Central , who just couldn't match ATV . Losing ATV was like losing a member of the family RIP ATV

I think the main problem was that central tried too hard to be middle class while ATV made programmes to suit every class. Also lets not forget 2 things, firstly I and other crossroads fans widely acknowledge that the ATV years were the best episodes and secondly they dared to get rid of tiswas. What a travesty!
