An improved version of my time-lapse movie of the latter part of the lunar eclipse of February 20, 2008. In take two, I have cropped and aligned the frames, so that the moon appears to stand still and fill the frame. This was filmed from Seattle with a Canon EOS 5D, an EF200mm f/2.8L II USM telephoto lens, and a TC-80N3 timer remote control. 192 frames were shot at 30 second intervals.

  • Thank you!! I had a lot of fun doing this project, and I learned a lot, and I am just delighted that other people are getting some enjoyment out of it...

  • i like the song

  • Thank you! The music is a short section from a tone poem composed by Richard Strauss in 1896, titled Also sprach Zarathustra. I think it was somewhat popular as classical music goes, but it became really famous when Stanley Kubrick used it in the sound track of the movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey.
