only one thing is missing to make the movement perfect the grip to the ground try so simulate the snake skin with thin pieces of rubber glued to aluminium will give the same result of a wheel as aderence i mean

you've certainly made more progress here than the people who made the "3d snake robot" in the reccomendations... this has better natural movement, and at least moves side to side in a sliding motion. you're way closer to figuring out the "scoot" concept that real snakes wouldhave.
