2011 Midwest Flooding - Branson, Missouri Flooding

This is HD video shot on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 of flooding from storms which brought nearly 14 inches of rain to parts of Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas between Thursday, April 21, 2011 and Wednesday, April 27, 2011. The most rain fell on Easter Sunday (April 24th) with 5.01 inches recorded at my weather station just east of downtown Branson.
The first portion of this video shows flooding at The Branson Landing along Lake Taneycomo. At one point we can see several two-by-four boards (which seem somewhat attached) floating down the lake. It almost looks like the boards may have been part of the frame of someone's house.
Next, we see the extreme force of the water as Lake Taneycomo flows into Bull Shoals Lake at Powersite Dam.
Finally, we go to the head of Lake Taneycomo at Table Rock Dam as all floodgates are open at the top releasing enough water to fill an Olympic-size swimming pool every 1.7 seconds!

Ugh I hate it when it floods. Where I grew up in Louisiana it would flood EVERY spring and I had to catch the canoe to the bus stop...>.>

I have no sad feelings for Bass Pro and other businesses along Lake Taneycomo in Branson. They built their 'crap' right on the lake, at NORMAL LEVEL!!! Tough crap. All the local people said not to, but the almighty dollar won over. LOL Next, the water running over the Dam at Powersite ( I lived on Bull Shoals for a number of years and went to school in Forsyth) That's normal, a little fast but Bull Shoals is a Flood Control Resevoir not for recreation!!!!

Do searches for midwest floods 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007. Every year for at least five years the midwest has been flooding.
