Thank you Ms. Foxx for representing your people of whom I am one. One vote that I had no reservations casting.

I agree with you,yoshi3329.

I'd like to remind everybody that the posed question was phrased: "IF ABSTINENCE ONLY EDUCATION IS PROVEN TO BE MORE EFFECTIVE..."
So, as excited as some of you are to yell out "Useless!", please note we're not trying to prove that it's the better method, just that people are biased.

This is a very real debate and I would say if you have a child in public school - find out what they are teaching and when - some guidelines for CSE start at K or 1st grade

Abstinence does indeed work and these people have apparently showed their bigotry towards chastity.

Advocates of Comprehensive Sex Education have shown thier bias. They are the ones who are withholding the facts from teens about the true risks of sexual activity. They don't believe in abstinence as a viable choice for teens, therefore they won't teach toward that goal even though it is the healthiest option. Read the book, "Unprotected," by Dr. Miriam Grossman, a UCLA psychiatrist.

Yes, we should definitely keep kids ignorant of sexual education and instead feed them misinformation and propaganda.
What a loaded question anyway, and utterly meaningless considering all evidence shows abstinence education DOESN'T work, it merely prevents teens who would have sex anyway ignorant and less likely to use proper protection.

This is stunning. This is writing on the wall. As a parent, I am outraged.
Moreover, some seem to believe that there is a magic age when one is suddenly bestowed with knowledge of contraceptives, STDs, and sexual safety. Giving students this information gives them the power of knowledge throughout the rest of their lives.
It is much more responsible of schools to inform students and encourage them to speak with their parents then to try and enforce a moral position and ignorance upon them.

Obviously abstinence works. Abstinence-only education does not.
There's no bigotry towards abstinence. Comprehensive sex-ed programs INCLUDE abstinence. But you're never going to get a group of students who are ALL planning to stay abstinent. In any case, there will always be students who need medically accurate information to protect their health. Abstinence-only education puts their health at risk.
