Yea, the fat git really blows them out of the water when he jumps in ! hahaha, no serious I was joking I really think he is one of the best modern guitarist there is out there! This solo is f***ing amazing!! [2:54 solo]
this music is so bad. everything is so "beautifully done" and "toneful" but there is no real song here it's just a review of all the blues cliches out there. why do people listen to stuff like this? its like they are living in a viagra ad or something.
The legendary Kevin Shirley produced You and Me, Sloe Gin, and The Ballad of John Henry. This guy has produced everyone from The Black Crowes, Led Zeppelin, Journey, Rush, and many many more. Hence why Joe has been blowing up lately, he owes a lot of his success to Kevin's amazing ears/skills. Joe is one of my favorite artists ever, but I noticed a huge difference from You and Me to today. Better songs, better solos, better singing....the works!
Kevin had alot to work with in Joe, but indeed, Kevin is a genius in his own right and very good at his craft. Great recording, great production, Heavy Sound
This album is legendary and possibly a top 20 Greatest of all time.
It is in my book for sure, along with Allman Bros Eat a Peace, Exile-Stones, Layla-EC and some others.
Funny you should mention Layla era EC and the Allman Bros. Tom Dowd was the producer for EC during the Layla sessions and for many of the greatest Allman Bros albums. Guess who produced Joe's debut solo album? The late-great Tom Dowd! Joe has been very lucky to work with some of the best in the biz!

This album is by far his best, imo.
I always come back to it.
And Tom Dowd was brilliant in his own right.
