  • Doc J was the main man; he was fluid and creative --I stopped being a real basketball fan after he retired -- then came Mike--- I thank You Doc -- think about it all these cats back then high flying cats ie David Thompson, Larry Nance, The Gerv --Bernard King It was a great time the 70's and 80' s

  • There was never more of a class act in the game of basketball than Dr. J. In his prime he was the most exciting player on the planet - everybody sat up and watched when he had the ball cuz you never knew when he would do something amazing.

  • I cringe to think about how much excitement and creativity we missed because of the five years he spent in the ABA. We didn't have 24 hour SportsCenter back then, and the ABA got less coverage than the NBA. He more than likely did some awesome things in Columbia, SC and Norfolk, Va that only those people who were at the games on those nights can talk about.

  • 2:03 - Lonnie Shleton is 6'8". Julius' eyes were looking straight ahead right at rim level. There isn't a more impressive BBall photo im my opinion.

  • your an idiot

  • i'm 31 and i got to see him late in his career and stil for his age he still brought fear into the opposing players eyes

  • hey NDMike its t21horton from another account

but its just amazing the way he flies and soars from anywhere on the court, i saw that one move he did where u went baseline and went up and under the other side of the backboard, its hard to describe it was so amazing, this guy is great

  • Hey t21horton,

I one of those folks that got to watch the Doctor in the ABA and NBA. 3 to 4 times per game the Doctor would create a move that you had never seen before. The Doctor would FLY and Soar around the court and leave you speechless. I saw stuff in the ABA and NBA that has never been duplicated. He was like a SuperNova flashing through the arena. Dr. J was all about creating amazing shots not to be fancy but it was what he had to do to score the points. It was something to watch!

  • i stopped too, even though jordan kinda was there to make up for the loss of docs play.
