According to American Forces Press Service, the military suicide rate has increased steadily over the past five years, exceeding the national average. Last year, the military averaged 12.5 suicides per 100,000 service members, according to D-O-D reports. For the Air Force, the number of total force suicides increased from 84 in 2009 to 100 in 2010. A majority, if not all, suicides could be prevented if members actually sought help when they first started to feel stressed. Staff Sergeant Jaime Ciciora shows us one Aviano Airman that asked for help before things spiraled out of control.
