  • The Bike may well have zero emissions (excepting the manufacturing process), but where does the power come from that charges the Enertia Plus? Unless we can produce the electricity to charge these with using something other method than burning fossil fuels, claims to be zero emissions vehicles are false. It's a great idea but I don't buy into the whole 'electric good, combustion engine bad' bandwagon for this reason.

  • @garmit61 True but we use about 65% recycled materials in the bike. Much better than most :). Also it is much more efficient and uses a lot less energy than a gas bike. $150 of energy gets you about 15,000 miles... Hydro or cleaner electricity helps as well. Great point though

  • You also have a future buyer in Australia :) Any plans for availability down-under?

  • @J0n0tanII We are very interested in that market.

  • What a great idea to make a commercial for a Bike without showing how it sounds. *facepalm*

  • @caaahl Great point - we had it in there, but the music over rode it. See the other videos for the sound

  • Sold! ummm but where can I buy one in the UK? :/

  • @garmit61 The emissions 'produced' by the Brammo Enertia are 1/5th of those than a comparable combustion motocycle. So, in this case 'electric good, combustion bad' makes perfect sense.

  • I'm buying one of these bad boys come this Christmas

  • This is so cool. With the next generation of batteries, electric bikes will be awesome.

  • @garmit61

    One more point....

Gas engines are about 25% efficient, at best. You put in $16 worth of gas, $12 of that is wasted as heat as you drive down the road. Electric motors can easily be 90% efficient! So the downside of e-bikes is range. But things are improving -- here's a great example of range improvement with Brammo's new enertia plus.

  • @garmit61

you have to understand, to produce gas the oil has to go through a lot to actually be usable in a vehicle

we actually lose more energy making harvesting the oil and making the gasoline then it gives out

with electric vehicles, energy only has to be converted once, from what ever form, to electricity in your home. (well then to charge the battery, but yeah :P)

  • yessssssss THIS IS THE FUTURE electry engine !

  • Yessss I like itttttttttttttttttttt ;-)

  • That looks really cool, I have to say.
