Trenton Area Soup Kitchen

This short documentary explores the root causes of hunger in New Jersey Capital City, and how TASK is working to meet the needs of Trenton's poor and less fortunate. It is a story of people helping other people, of people who are grateful and positive. In the same breath, it is a story about people who cannot afford to feed their families on the money they earn. In 2008, the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen expects to serve over 180,000 meals to hungry families in the Trenton area, but the need continues to grow. During the same year, over 85 students were enrolled in TASK's successful GED and adult education program.

Yeh...I work there...any time of day you can see fat chix with tons of kids & young, able-bodied men just "hanging out. It is disgusting and amazing how Newark , Irvington,Trenton and Camden are all the same....Guess there is a common theme here-lazy and stupid would be a big part of it

This is a terrific piece of work, really well put together. I am hoping to do a documentary for a soup kitchen in Bradford in the UK and your film is a great template. Excellent editing and fading in and out of scenes. The sound is great and the lighting is good. You have set the bar very high for a home made production.

I am upper middle class, but I hate this current structure of society were a majority of people all the way up to upper middle class is only getting a fraction of the rich. You may say the rich very well deserved it, and they may often do, but my hope is that distribution among any level of class will increase proportional to automation among factory output taking less people for services. Lol, that wouldn't work at all either, it would just mean higher profits for the higher ups. Pipe dreams :/
