@TheCrosswind I really respect you for avoiding most meat despite your allergies. Although, a good source for Omega 3 fatty acids is flax seed. You can put it in your cereal, salads, and a lot of other foods! If you haven't tried it before, I highly recommend it. Thanks for watching the film!

Thank you. Is it ok to drink soymilk? And is there an alternative for eggs?

I couldn't watch this without my stomach turning when they were killing the chickens. I live in a house where I have 3 siblings and parents that eat a lot of meat. I can't stop them from buying it. I just want to drag people like those men with chickens into a slaughter house and slit their throats and see how they like it. God didn't create animals to eat. Originally, animals were friends with humans and got along. Not until after the fall did people eat meat. What's wrong with eating

I can respect this woman's point of view, just as I can respect the free range farmers point of view. I am a vegetarian married to a meat eater, so I see both sides. My husband eats meat once every 1-2 weeks; so I have to purchase meat. However, when I purchase meat I purchase from free range local farms. I believe as stewards of the the earth we must respect life, but also understand the need to eat to survive. The farmer said it well when he said that the chickens live a good life with just o

Wild deer or moose is organic, and it's honorable to harvest animals to feed your self or your family. Why is it ok to kill and eat fish and plants, but not birds and animals?

humane meat = OXYMORON

@phivemicslive The only thing you crush is your human soul.

@1221solstice2012 I'll slice open the throat of a chicken in a heartbeat–don't get it twisted! In fact, I rather enjoy the flesh of a freshly slaughtered animal. I like to peel the fat off freshly grilled chicken with my teeth, and wipe the fatty liquid from my beard. How's that make you feel hippy? Let me put it to you like this: Your ideological jargon has no value to me; furthermore, you lack the intelligence to debate me concerning this, or any subject for that matter. I will crush you.
Eggs and stuff? Why be vegan? I'm vegetarian. What do they do that would make it bad to have milk? I understand eggs, cause it's kinda like eating a baby. But still, why do some people not have things like milk?

@randomrainbow282 Thanks so much for asking about eggs and milk. On factory farms, egg laying hens are raised in small cages (six hens to a cage) where they can't even spread a single wing. The cage wire cuts into their feet and skin causing painful lesions. Dairy cows are kept in stalls and they are force-impregnated in order to produce milk. I highly encourage you to watch PETA's Meet Your Meat video, which is narrated by Alec Baldwin.

Thank you for posting the video. I am currently a vegan because of ethical issues surrounding animal products but I really did think that the chicken farm was quite humane. Maybe if they beheaded the chickens faster it would have been a little more humane but this is fine with me. I would also eat meat that comes from grass fed free range cattle, goat or lamb that got their heads chopped off with one clean slice of a sharp blade.

@danielghofrani I think it's great that you choose only to consumer grass-fed cattle as well as other free range meat. However, grass-fed cattle are still sent to conventional slaughterhouses where they are inhumanely killed. Small scale farmers like the one in this short film don't have the proper facilities to slaughter cattle on their property. They're not killed with once clean slice.

nice video, i am learning more as i get older about Humanely Raised vs Humanely killed". In my opinion humane slaughter is quick and least painful. I see non of that is most videos i've seen lately of mass production from livestock, chicken, cattle, goats and now I'm learning more about Horse Slaughter which is anything but humane - our US auction & wild Rounded Up horses are sent to Canada & Mexico. It also bothers me that the waiting chickens are forced to watch/hear the others slaughtered

@TheCrosswind As you saw in the video, there is no humane way to slaughter an animal. What's interesting is that the family farm in the video is considered the most humane there is. Brooke Chavez, the owner of the farm animal sanctuary in the video was recently quote in an article about horse slaughter. This is what she said, "Last Wednesday the truck was so crammed with terrified horses I could see a young horse, not any older than three months, being crushed in the back of the truck."
