Sam, this is a great solution to Iraq and I am glad to see a political solution for Iraq. Other presidential candidates either want to withdraw completely, which I think most American disagree with, or stay on the ground continuing to confront a military solution. Only you and Biden have a plan for Iraq that is solid politically. Keep up the great work!
I'm to the left of liberal and yet I agree completely with Sen. Brownback. I was listening to a commentary about the impossibility of dividing Iraq because of Bagdad being a combination of Sunni, Kurds and Shea. Then I thought, "How about a division leaving Bagdad as a cosmopolitan City?" Brownback used the term "Federal City" and I think he's correct. It is the best solution.
brownback is right about something (somehow): he recognizes that iraq is a state made of separate nations. this isnt a secret, 'iraq' was created after ww1 by the brits. why didnt brownback mention this pre-february 2003?
that is a very dangerous solution. Splitting Iraq into three states could tempt the kurds in turkey and iran to seperate from their countries, the saudis to step into iraq to protect other sunni's and will give iran larger influence in the region, resulting in the destabilization of the worlds largest oil fields, which heaven known americans want more than any other commodity. This guy doens't know shi# from sideways.
Brownback is the best candidate for President not only for his honorable track record as a Senator, but for his logical stance on the issues facing our nation today. This posture on Iraq is logical and provides a coherent set of answers to the problem set before us.
