Hi, everybody. We're just a few days out from my third State of the Union address. And I'm actually not done writing it yet, so there might be a few late nights between now and then. But I wanted to share with you some of what I'm planning to talk about on Tuesday night.

In a lot of ways, my address on Tuesday will be a bookend to what I said in Kansas last month about the central mission we have as a country, and my central focus as President. And that's rebuilding an economy where hard work pays off and responsibility is rewarded -- and an America where everybody gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everybody plays by the same set of rules.

I talked in Osawatomie about - this is a make-or-break moment for the middle class and folks trying to work their way into the middle class. Because we can go in two directions. One is towards less opportunity and less fairness. Or we can fight for where I think we need to go: building an economy that works for everyone, not just a wealthy few.

On Tuesday night, I'm going to talk about how we'll get there. I'm going to lay out a blueprint for an economy that's built to last.

American Manufacturing -- with more good jobs and more products stamped with Made in America.

American Energy -- fueled by homegrown and alternative energy sources.

Skills for American Workers -- getting people the education and training they need so they're ready to take on the jobs of today and tomorrow.

And most importantly, a Return to American Values -- of fairness for all, and responsibility from all.

They're big ideas, because we've got to meet this moment. And this speech is going to be about how we do it.

I hope you'll watch, and I hope you'll use the opportunity to join other supporters of this campaign in your community as you do.

People are gathering all across the country to watch the speech together, to talk about it, and to make plans for the next 10 months -- and I want you to join other folks in your neighborhood for it. You can find an event near you by going to www.BarackObama.com/StateOfTheUnion.

Thanks, and see you Tuesday.

  • Guess What!?

I'm sick and Tired of Americans letting the Media-Corporate Complex Get away with this Propaganda! I'm starting to not care. If Americans don't stand up for themselves and get angry and fight for their rights They won't have Any Any more.

    Guess What!?

I'm not going to feel bad for Americans when they are poor and don't have any rights because They are choosing right now to throw them away. I won't pity them! If they don't stand up now, then they deserve what's coming! :(

  • You had my vote (again) until you passed the NDAA, but now I might just abstain from voting. 4 years ago you had a huge showing of support and ran as the anti-bush. This time around you are the continuation of Bush's policies and your promises (gitmo) can't be trusted. I voted for a strongly liberal president but got a fairly weak centrist. Still better than mccain/palin at least. You are really going to need to gain active liberal support again, you've lost pretty much all of it at this point.

  • Obama 2012.....cant wait to see all the crazy teabaggers/ GOP defend newt morals. Obama gets credit from me for the New GI Bill, repeal of don't ask don't tell, and Bin Laden, things he campained on. He didn't accomplish everything soooo lets give him for more years....=)

  • I've seen a lot of people who said that Obama was doing a poor job or that he was a Bush-Twin. Let me just leave an example. Lets say that you were to buy an apartment. The last owner was a slob and left garbage everywhere. Then you walk in to be bombarded with garbage and mold. You try your best to clean it up, but the apartment is just too dirty to clean properly. The same thing happened with Obama. Don't blame him for everything that's happened. Bush made a giant mess and left Obama with it.

  • American people, please vote Obama 2012 for world's sake!

Greets and support from Germany :)

  • calm, dignified, clear, and with an argument like the one he posits in his Osawatomie speech, if I were a republican, I'd be quivering like Newt Gingrich's jowls.

  • I always find it hilarious about the people who have been "dissapointed" in Obama saying I voted for change blah blah. Do these people know how government works? The guys does not have the ability to do everything he wants. You have to pass it through congress which has been Obama's wall. Everything gets blocked. A lot of people don't follow politics to the point they should, instead of relying on a 30 second local news clip or a small paragraph from a newspaper. If only people did research.'

  • "Made in America", does anyone else here miss that sentence too
