@CohenTheWhiteRabbit You realize the competing Daily Mail writes about "NEW STUDY SHOWS X GIVES YOU CANCER" like every few weeks as well, right? It's media in general that is on the cancer bandwagon, not liberals or conservatives specifically.

I loved this advert, I was fortunate enough to catch it when it was on for its only week or so of airing.
I hate the Liberal TV viewers who wrote to "The Guardian" about how this advert gives them cancer through the use of the word "Bollocks".

I remember this advert being show on British TV many years ago, although it was not to long before it was banned(the Mary Whitehouse brigade). The idea is like father like daughter the girl picks up the curse work from her father. VW message is that the car is so quiet that the father forgets it not a gas car and a diesel. the curse word "bollocks is another word for testicles but interestingly the phrase "dogs bollocks" used mainly by cockneys means the best of.

@HesseJamez: Lief der in D? Mit welchem Wort denn?
-
It wasn't banned in Germany !

This ad got banned because the jar of biscuits (cookies in american) was over her head and could have fallen on her! It was nothing to do with the word bollocks.
And yes, thats the truth. This was shown on a UK censorship documentary a couple of years back where they explained the reasoning.

Unless something you've done is 'the dog's bollocks' then strangely it's well received all round. Funny that.
why does no one seem to know what bollocks are
